Clinical Eligibility for Prenatal Care at Millie
If you answer “Yes” to any of the following questions, Millie is likely not a good fit for your pregnancy care.
Please note that these are not the only factors that determine your eligibility, and that all cases are subject to the review and discretion of our clinicians so we can ensure you get the best care possible. You are welcome to reach out to support@millieclinic.com with any questions!
Do you have any of the following chronic conditions?
- Autoimmune conditions (ask us about conditions that aren’t in this list):
- Lupus
- Sjogren’s
- Cancer (active)
- Chronic kidney disease
- Cardiac disease
- Congestive heart failure/Cardiomyopathy/Congenital Heart Disease
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Some arrhythmias
- Complex or unstable psychiatric illness
- Unstable bipolar disorder or severe depression
- Schizophrenia
- Personality Disorder
- Diabetes
- Hepatitis, viral active (carriers of hepatitis B without active hepatitis are eligible)
- HIV
- Longstanding high blood pressure (hypertension) that is difficult to control
- quiring medication to manageHyperthyroidism
- Short cervix (<1cm)
- Para/quadriplegic
- Seizure disorder (excluding childhood disorder that has resolved)
- Sickle cell disease/Hemoglobinopathy
- Severe asthma (history of hospitalization for asthma, exacerbations not controlled by regular inhaler use)
- Thrombophilias (history of pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis or disorder putting you at risk of this)
Do you have a HISTORY of any of the following?
- 2 or more preterm births
- Preeclampsia diagnosed before 34 weeks gestation
- Vertical uterine incision
- Abdominal/laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy (unless cleared by their surgeon for vaginal birth)
- Intrauterine fetal death
Do you have any of the following in your CURRENT pregnancy?
- Gestational hypertension (new onset high blood pressure which developed in the second half of your pregnancy)
- Pre pregnancy BMI ≥ 40
- Active substance use (in treatment or not). Marijuana excepted.
- Tuberculosis (active)
